Eleanor + Nolan

Let me love you a little more before you’re not little anymore

I have been photographing these sweet faces since they were just a few days old.  I can remember being a little nervous for their newborn session as I had only ever worked with one other set of twins.  Eleanor and Nolan ROCKED their session, they slept beautifully and I even got a few smiles out of them.

When Eleanor + Nolan's mommy contacted me and told me they wanted to schedule a Baby's First Year package I was so excited...babies change so fast and with multiples I can only imagine between the sleep deprivation, feedings, diaper changes that it can all feel like a distant memory. This is why I LOVE what I do, I get to freeze time even for just a moment so you can remember it.

We scheduled their 3 month session during the fall season so they could send out holiday cards of their little family.  Look at those squishy little faces...they were all smiles that evening!

The twins mother, Jessica told me that it was a family tradition in her home to have naked photos taken when they were 6 months old.  Her mother (twins grandmother) has a collage of images from even when Jessica was younger of little tooshies. During their studio session, they did so well and it was fun to see their little personalities shine through!

In true Texas tradition, their 9 month images took place during bluebonnet season so we found a patch in Grapevine. It was close to bedtime for these cuties but we manage to get some great shots.  Look at how much they have changed in just 9 months!

We scheduled a sunrise session with their family, and it did not disappoint...I mean look at that golden light!   It gets so warm here in Texas during the summer months and these babies go to bed early, so we got up before the sun and headed out to Murrell Park.

Wow, we made it...ONE Year...Hard to believe I won't be seeing them every 3 months now!

I have been taking photos for the Owens Family for a few years now, when I first met Raquel she was pregnant with her second precious little boy Atlas.  Even now that I live in Texas I still manage to get up to Michigan so I can photograph all of my amazing families there, it really goes to show you how fast kids grow up!

Raquel has a very bohemian spirit and I just adore that, I mean look at their outfits, its perfection! I knew our session was going to be full of laughter, love, and emotional storytelling.

Saying you love your children is not enough.
The proof of your love resides in your actions,
and in your sacrifice, lies the reward.

Mommy + Me | Jessica

I had no idea it would be this much,
I had no idea I could handle it.
I had no idea how beautiful it all actually is.

Have you ever had a session where you walked away from it and thought "WOW, that was amazing!"  - well that was this session!  Jessica is probably one of THE sweetest people I know...the way her kids were so gentle with one another, there was so much love!  I actually had put out a model call because business was slow and I wanted to shoot for ME...I had this gorgeous dress hanging in my closet that matched a baby romper that my youngest wore when she was 9 months old and it went beautifully together and I wanted to photograph them.  Jessica's sister is actually a photographer in a group that put my model call in and she said her sister (Jessica) would be the perfect model.  I contacted Jessica and she was all about it. I am SOOOO glad she said yes because look at these images!

I could have shared this entire session!

Our Life in 52 Weeks

a photograph is the pause button of life
_DSC8220.jpg

I started a 52 week project to help push myself in photography with editing, angles, use of light, etc.  BUT I also do it for my daughters.  I can remember as a little girl going through all my old photo albums looking back at pictures from when I was young with my siblings.  I now have those albums so my daughters can look through them, they enjoy seeing mommy at the same age as them doing the same things as them (playing with chalk, dancing, soccer, really just being a kid)

My passion for photography started with them..and it will always revolve around them.  They are my muse, so when I see them playing nicely together or cuddled up reading a book I am always going to run and grab my camera, because I want them to have these memories frozen in time so when it is a distant memory they can look at a photo and have glimpse into their past.  I also do it for myself...life can get busy and so when I am old and grey I want to remember these moments of their childhood.

Love your family, spend time, be kind & serve one another. Make no room for regrets. Tomorrow is not promised & today is short.

This is just a small fragment of the images I have taken in the last 33 weeks, and my 52 week journey will end in December...I am loving this growth and look forward to seeing what the rest of the year has in store. One thing is for sure...next year I want to travel more and show my girls what this world has to offer!

Hudson {Newborn Lifestyle}

Hudson was a dream newborn client...this tiny little bundle of joy slept for most of session, I was able to capture a few photos of him bright eyed and bush tailed and then he was "milk drunk".  Hudson's nursery was literally something straight out of Pinterest.  The pallet wall was beautifully done (and Mommy even stained it), and all of the cute safari animals were the perfect touch for a little boys room.  Big brother Nolan was not shy in front of the camera, I think I got just as many adorable photos of him being a cute toddler as I did of his baby brother.

You can tell this family is going to have so much fun watching these sweet little boys grow up together...there is already so much joy and love in this beautiful home in Texas.

My wish for you: to splash in muddy puddles, to run through green fields, to feel the sun on your skin, to make special friends, to find the end of the rainbow, to sleep under the stars, and to spread your wings like a bird and fly

Brenleigh Mae {A Birth Story}

"You are going to feel like at some point you cannot do it...THAT is when your baby is coming."

I was so honored when Hannah Shipp and Connor Shipp asked me to be apart of their daughter's birth story. Brenleigh Mae came into this world on February 3rd, 2018 at 5:22 AM weighing 9lbs. Her Mom was nothing short of amazing.

The week leading up to Brenleigh's birth her mother (Hannah) was having small contractions here and there, which was just her body preparing for what was to come. Friday evening I had received a text around 8:30 PM from Hannah saying that her contractions have been more intense than the last and she was sure this was going to be the day. Of course I couldn't sleep, so I stayed up anxiously awaiting a phone call from Hannah so I could come to their home to start documenting. Around 3:00 AM Saturday Connor texted me to let me know that Hannah's contractions started to pick up quickly and that they were going straight to Fort Worth Birthing & Wellness Center. Of course I jumped right up and was out the door...I got to the center around 3:30 AM. When I got to the center, I was greeted by Hannah's older sister who showed me up to Hannah's room. Y'all this birthing center was amazing...it was like being in a studio apartment, and the staff was wonderful!

Hannah's labor was definitely progressing at a rapid rate and soon she would meet her beautiful little girl!

Carnahan Family Session

But the most beautiful things in life are not just things. They’re people, and places, memories and pictures. They’re feelings and moments and smiles and laughter.

I was so excited when Barbara asked me to take her family photos this year.  See, Barbara is a fellow photographer and her and her family had just moved to Texas from Nebraska this spring, so she could have chosen anyone in the area, but she asked me! You and your family have been through quite a rollercoaster these passed few months and I can tell your bond is so strong. I just knew how important these photos were going to be.

It's always nerve racking/exciting to work with another photographer because you know their family is used to having their photos taken, but what if you disappoint?!?! Well I hope I did not disappoint Barbara, because I think your family rocked their session!

Eleanor + Nolan | Twin Newborn Lifestyle

In this life we will never truly be apart, for we grew to the same beat of our mother’s heart.

I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable duo Eleanor + Nolan last month and they stole my heart. Eleanor was full of sweet baby smiles, and Nolan loved being close to his sister. Their nursery was like something out of a Magnolia Market Magazine..they had a full wall of white shiplap (ah-mazing!) and two wrought iron cribs with the sweetest crib sheets.  Mommy and Daddy waited to find out their genders until they were born so the nursery was a perfect combination of neutrals.

A Mother's Love...

"And she loved a little boy very very much - Even more than she loved herself"

I strive to capture emotions when shooting.  I want my photos to say something to you, to truly speak to you.  I feel like this session did just that! There is no denying how much this little boy loves his mommy, you can see it in his eyes. I love the way a mother and baby are able to re-connect through nursing after birth; what a woman's body can do is amazing.

Feigel Family | In-Home Lifestyle

"Family...A little bit of crazy, a little bit of loud, & a whole lot of love"

First I want to say this family really knows how to have a good time! When Sarah asked me to come to their home and do an in-home lifestyle session I was all about it.  I love getting those organic/raw moments at family shoots.  Their daughters (Sadie and Scarlett) were so very shy the first time I met them, the girls wouldn't look at my camera and down right didn't want to be around me, I was determined to win them over because hey, every kid loves Stephanie! I quietly walked around the playroom while the kids read books with Mommy and then watched as they played a fun game with Daddy...by the middle of that game they were laughing, running around, and didn't even notice me or the camera in the room! We had fun putting puzzles together, they showed me their favorite books, picked their favorite songs to sing, and they even had fun putting play makeup on one another.  As you can tell in the photos it shows how much love is in their home, and it was such a joy capturing it for them.
